The hazards of high tech crime and the difficulties if keeping data secure.
In this new era of globalisation, the computers and internet have grown out of a human need to quantify and infiltrated our lives thoroughly. Personal computer has become very common and can be seen used by most population, for example lecturers, businessmen, students and so on. The networking has grown to be so important until restaurants today get to fix wireless or wi-5 services. However, not all of the community tend to take this development for granted.
Even though IT (Information Technology) brings convenience towards people all around the world, still some problems arise from it. With the technological advances that the world has seen over the past few years, it is not surprising that high-tech crime is on the up rise. But, what is high-tech crime? In essence, high-tech crime refers to those crimes that are being conducted using the internet or the help of a computer. These crimes are also referred to cyber crimes, computer crimes and technological crimes. The problems we are facing nowadays are the hazards of high-tech crime and the difficulty of keeping data secure.
The most common term that known by the world is hacking. Hackers use the code to crack open fire wall. They are trying to break codes, collecting others personal data and important information. It is mostly used to blackmail. No one gets to guarantee that our data will remain secure in the computer system. Adversely, our data have the possibility of being stolen at any period of time. This possibility becomes extremely high when our personal computer is being stolen or sending for repair.
It is more and more difficult to protect personal and confidential privacy in this information technology age. To avoid this phenomenon to become more serious, we must search for solutions as I believe there must be a way to protect our personal data from being stole. First, we must look very seriously in order to protect our personal data. If we are surfing on the net and suddenly there is cookies appear on the webpage, the action that we need to take is just ignoring it.
Next, high-tech crime may lead to more and more such big threat to our country and even the world, besides the lost of money and damage of reputation. It could reveal one’s personal life and encourage blackmailing of personal privacy. We should always be careful. We have to create the password which is strong strength and in the high secure. The password that we used online must not be easily guessable. Moreover, there is something that we need to take note is prepare for the worst! Although there are precautions that we made, we must not over depend on it.
Besides, high-tech crime does happen in high level security zone, until that it involves international companies, government and military. Authorities around the world are working to increase their expertise and to develop tools that will effectively fight these high-tech crimes. In addition, countries can develop initiatives to combat the complexities of these crimes and to attempt to bring them to an end. These problems need to be strictly solved by law to stop those hackers to rule our world too.
Other than that, each country has to protect their own country computer system to avoid the terrorism hack or stole the top secret of their country. This action must be stop as soon as possible by law or by creating new kind software to stop this kind of terrorism. Last but not least, high-tech crime investigation which requires information sharing and cooperation among all levels of government and without boundaries should be done.
